Arrived at Natura (Joachimsthal, Berlin) today and got all checked in. We arrived at 11am and they didn’t feed us until 5:30pm, we were starving!!

The first student had their birthday today and he got soaked with water while we sang happy birthday:)

One of the cats climbed up a really tall tree today. He took everyones focus during colors and was very impressive coming down from the tree!

First cold plunge into the lake today! Me and my roommate Lauren went in together, what an amazing ending to a wonderful day.

We went on a 3 hour walking tour today and it was amazing, what a great way to see the city.

We woke up extra extra early today and went into Berlin via public trains. We took some amazing golden hour photos at the train station.

Went in the lake for my 4th time and we took some amazing photos on a professional camera. Again, nothing like a polar plunge to bond you with others.

Tonight was potluck night so everyone bough ingredients in Berlin the last time we where there and we all made yummy dishes. I made roasted vegetables with balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper, they were amazing!

We left Natura today! It was a long 8 hour bus ride to Heino, Netherlands but we made it and now it’s time to share a room with 5 others…

Marci sat down straight onto a packet of butter during the colors activity today and it looked like a poop stain. The entire group was laughing about it for 5 minutes straight.

We got out WATCH GROUPS today. The staff made it a whole harry potter based theme and it was so special. What an amazing to meet my watch.

We found ponies today on our walk into Heino, they were so cute and we gave them all names.

Our watch group went into town today and got coffee and started to get to know each other. What a crazy energetic group we have:)

They have a family of deer in an enclosure behind the church in town. If only they knew they could come to Bethesda and see 10 deer a day.

Our first shore leave day in Amsterdam, whoohooo! It was so much fun and we ended the night on a canal tour of the city that lead to us drinking the canal water.

A huge dog came to visit us today at Forest Lodge and he got 20 minutes of solid pets.

Today was Canadian Thanksgiving and Lauren and I baked her famous chocolate chip cookies. The night ended with a pie eating contest and Marci and I killed it!

We went to visit Sail Cargo today and they gave us such a moving presentation on sustainable cargo shipping.

My watch group got to climb the masts today! I learned that you don’t have to clip in when you are climbing on the ladders that lean into the boat, such an adrenaline rush.

We are going through our first storm tonight, the wind is supposed to be huge with gusts up to 60 knots.

The storm ended up getting to an F11 out of 12 and our engine was not powerful enough for the wing and currents so we were going back 1 nautical mile per hour for about 7 hours.

A crew change is happening today so we stopped in France and are anchored from 8am to 5pm. We have cell coverage!
